Fancy me yet? Yes! If you know the band you know who we’re talking about, Fancy Me Yet is a Miami based band who have exploded online with their Indie pop sound! Their catchy music, lyrics and look has drawn in many fans. Some new fans attracted by the new look, new music and some fans who grew with JD Natasha now known simply as Natasha, who joined by Chris and Alex have become the band we love. So here it is exclusive to their fans whom they thank for their continued support, a little inside look on a personal level with the band as we ask some of the questions we’ve been waiting to have answered….

Lets start off with natasha, a lot of us knew you as Jd Natasha what made you decided to completely change your image and music sound?

Before recording the second JD Natasha record, I took a breather to collect my thoughts and realized I was not where I wanted to be musically at that point in my life. I therefore decided to leave my deal with EMI & pursue my music career in a more creative route. The opportunities that were given to me and the support from the fans is something that I embrace till this day and will continue with Fancy Me Yet.

Some people feel let down that you decided depart from your Spanish rock music, while others couldn’t wait for you to release music in English, what part of your career do you feel you identify with most?

When I was 15 the opportunity to make Spanish pop rock with a major label was what was offered to me and felt right then. I had a great time and learned a lot from that experience. It is something I am proud of, but it is not what I identify myself with now. Playing in Fancy Me Yet constantly reminds me of why I am a musician and there’s no greater feeling than playing music with talented friends. It’s way more fun compared to traveling alone. I am very happy with the music the band and I are writing/playing right now and completely identify with it.

We have very exciting news, this week we will be posting our Exclusive interview with Fancy Me Yet! In the interview the band talks about their music, what it was like playing their first show, and their favorite moments so far. The boys let us know a little bit more about their lives before the band, and Natasha talks to us about her career as Jd Natasha. You don’t want to miss out on this interview!

Heres a sneak Peek:

Could you briefly describe the music-making process?

It’s different for each song, but it usually starts with a riff one of us starts playing. From then on, we start laying out the basis of the arrangement until it’s solid enough for us to add melodies and our own unique individual aspects. A big part of what makes our music stand-out is that each of us equally contributes to the process.

What advice do you have for people who want to form their own bands?

Find your own unique sound and just go for it. Avoid procrastination and be prepared to go to great lengths to get your name out there.

If the new track from Fancy Me Yet, “Middle Man,” is any indication from what’s to come, than they should be rocking stages across the country and the world in no time. The group consists, of lead singer, Natasha, drummer, Chris, and guitarist, Alex.

They boast an intoxicating pop-rock sound that is hard to ignore. They’re currently working on their first album, searching for the right producer. Natasha, along with bandmates Alex and Chris are Fancy Me Yet, and together they are an indie pop-rock trio that combine an elegant blend of up-beat electronic synths, rocking guitar pieces, kicking drum beats and strong female vocals that will leave you begging for more! As Natasha herself puts it “our music usually revolves around the theme of motion because of the constant energy that is emitted from our sound.”

The result is obviously a bi-product of the Rocking Trio’s friendship. “Alex and I started the band in May 2009. We started off jamming together for fun when we both realized there was chemistry and potential in the music. A few months after writing ‘Amusing Me’ Chris approached us on MySpace. We really hit it off writing music as a trio which is rare.”

Since then, it has become increasingly clear that Fancy Me yet is rapidly growing in momentum! “We have been generating a following in the South Florida Music Scene by playing key shows. Endorsements from Gibson, Shine, and BMI have helped us gain attention from the music industry.”

While Fancy Me Yet draws inspiration from better known bands such as Franz Ferdinand, The Killers, Blondie and U2, their professionalism is not exactly beginners luck.

Natasha Jeanne, who was formerly known as “JD Natasha” previously held a record deal with EMI records and was nominated for three Latin Grammys before starting over with Fancy Me Yet. “It’s something Where I wasn’t happy with the direction the label wanted me to go, so I stayed true to what I believe and decided to follow my heart. Now I am making music I love with Fancy Me Yet.”
